This game puts you completely at the mercy of 30 year old men that treat a survival video game about dinosaurs like a full time job. Pretty much all of them have no sense of humor, no friends, and definitely WAY too much time on their hands. There is no joy here, it's just a cess pit of sweaty nerds that are ruthless to everyone except the girls they want to impress because they're all simps.
The only good servers i've ever been in had nice alphas, and then we got raided by tryhards from other servers anyways. If you enjoy survival games, you'll love ARK. Dino taming and all that comes with it adds a fun twist to the genre, but can add to the grind. Having a clear end game and progression path for you to travel is something other survival games lack. There is a lot to learn in the world of ARK, and the developers do a great job showing you the path without walking you down it by hand.The one thing keeping this game a 4 star rather than a 5 for me is that in order to keep up with any of the official servers, you will need to either have a very large group or a lot of time to spend building and fortifying. I've found ARK is best enjoyed on community servers. They allow you and your friends to expand at your own pace, and really dive into the world the developers have built.

If you scroll all the way down on the general settings menu when creating a world, you will see a setting labeled 'Enable Creative Mode'.
If you enable this, access it in the pause menu when you load into your game. This mode gives you access to everything and will give you infinite health and inventory space. If you want to tame something fast, open up the admin command menu while in the pause menu by pressing LB and RB at the same time while looking at the creature and type 'forcetame' to instantly tame the creature and if you do this, you can ride it without a saddle. There are a ton of commands you can use for spawning things in, giving items, giving exp, invisibility, phasing and even teleporting.

However still filled with bugs, glitches, and crashes quite often.Not sure why dlc maps are even out for this game, because the base map still doesn't play correctly. You would think the devs would have focused on fixing the original map correctly before even considering a full launch and DLC. Yet the first PAID DLC was launched while this game was still in Game Preview, and was/is still plagued with bugs that were there from begining of GP at full release.I loved Ark, but now I don't even have it installed. Doesn't matter if you have a 1X, 1S, or just an original X1; 9 times out of 10 bugs kill enjoyment.I wonder how different this game would be if these guys hadn't gotten sued and lost millions due to breaking a no compete clause, which caused their current #1 focus to be money rather than fixing this game.
