Available exclusively for PlayStation® anglers, this special tackle pack Fishing Planet 2.0: Free Starter Bundle is a great set of basic fishing goodies that you need to start your feeder fishing adventures! Get the drive going with a wonderful rod&reel combo, cool tackle and even 3-day pond passes.

After completing the registration and signing in, your Fishing Planet adventure begins. The first taste of the game comes through a short tutorial that'll give you a basic understanding of the fishing process and interactions with the map and inventory. After you complete the tutorial (it's an easy one, so don't worry!), you'll already get level 2 plus a few credits and gold coins, as a starting gift. Spend them wisely, because getting broke is the most common mistake among beginners. It is highly recommended, after you finished the introductory tutorial, to take a look on in-game tutorials. They can be accessed using dedicated button, on game global screen. Any fish you catch, from smallest to biggest, except unique ones, is worth credits. All you need to do is to catch and keep the fish until the end of the fishing session or until midnight, when fish will be automatically 'sold'.

That's why the first indispensable thing is a fish keeper - stringer or keepnet. When you're promoted to level 2, the game will 'force' you to buy, for a price of 10 credits. The rest of the credits is enough for your first trips to the only available fishing location at this level -. During these first fishing sessions, keep in mind this one thing: make them profitable, which means catching enough fish to cover your travel and fishing expenses (20 credits for travel and 5 credits for each fishing day). If you have a bad fishing day, don't leave the location, just use 'time travel' feature (press 'T' key) and start another fishing day. This way, you will pay only the fishing expenses (5 credits). You can also use this feature to consolidate your bank account, fishing for several days in a row, without leaving the location. In the beginning, it's better to focus on: they're easy to catch using entry-level tackle and very common and cheap bait - bread or red worms.

Fisherman

If you are careful and skilled enough, you will also get several bronze, like Lucky Bobber, Angling Machine or Panfish Overlord, what means small amount of credits and some experience points. After a few fishing sessions, once you acquire some basic skills and a get a more solid bank account, you may spend around 130 credits to buy your first spinning tackle combo (a spinning rod + a spinning reel) and a few lures (small slop and casting spoons) and try to catch. A cheaper alternative is to buy bigger hooks and some specialized bait - cheese or pet food - and try. In both cases, the rewards for these fish are bigger, so financial problems will be solved in no time.Meanwhile, the gained experience, from catching fish and from first achievements, will allow you to grow to higher levels and soon you will be able to explore new fishing locations. Make sure to go to the store and buy a license before your first fishing session on every new location.

Catching fish without a valid license or keeping unlicensed fish, implies penalties and you will lose some of your credits! Descriptions for available licenses and prices can be found in the Store or on the pages about the fishing locations. It's probably better to get a license for the number of days that you actually plan on using it.

Don't buy long-term licenses unless you're going to make the most of them. When buying new tackle or equipment, think before spending money on things that will be rarely used. Have a clear plan about what and where you want to fish and act accordingly.

TinyE: Fishing Superior is like deep seep trawling. The average depth of the lake is around 1000 feet, where most of your best catches hang out. They might come up to the top around November but that's when the storms hit and that's when 800 boats vanish. XDWith weights, bait, hooks, rods, down-riggers, diesel etc your average setup in around $1000, and that's just one setup.

Hit a snag, break the line, you just threw a Grand into the water.:PIf you know what you are doing a Coho or Lake Trout the size of a child isn't too rare.I don't know what I'm doing. All I've ever done is thrown thousands of dollars into the lake.:P ah i see.

I like it ocean fishing, but I tend not to deal with all the nonsense. If I had to deal with all that crap, I'd have lost my mind:) I'm used to smaller lakes up north and lake Erie, which is by no means that taxing. My favorite is just sitting on the dock late at night and casting off from there. Of course, I've bathed in OFF. Crewdroog: ah i see.

Well, off Newfoundland, technically. It was absurdly simple and rather fun! Drop a hook (no bait necessary, they're pretty dumb) and before you know it, you're pulling in a decent size fish.I still prefer freshwater fishing though.

I've gone off florida for bonito, tuna and marlin (no marlin:( ).

I caught a very large barracuda. I've also gone off the carolina's but it was a long, long time ago, and I don't remember what we were fishing for. All I remember is it was super choppy and we ate a box of donuts much to the disgust of a family friend.Hahaha, the one fun thing about sea fishing is that you shouldn't go into a small shower after you get home.

For some reason, the water and close quarters will trigger your brain and you will feel like you are back out in the chop. I didn't believe it when I was told and almost fell down. The Ultimate Fishing SimulatorAs someone who likes fishing both for reals and as a digital fun I can confirm without doubt.Fishing Planet is the most realistic fishing experience you can have beside the real thing. For many many years I tought that Bass Landing (PS1, 1999) will never be outmatched, but it has finally happened. Both lure and bait fishing is supported. So many options, combinations to explore. Even I who hate bobber fishing in real life am having so much fun with it in this game.

Gameplay mechanics is just rightly balanced between realism and gaming fun. Everyone can catch a fish but only the true masters can catch monsters. Game looks absolutely gorgeous.fish that splashes, mother nature's landscapes.fog that blures and rain that is pouring over your eyes.sunrises and sunsets.and then the atmospheric sounds.astonishing.Many different fish to be caught, each with it's own behavior depending on weather/time of day etc. As you catch more and more of them you level up. Better equipment becomes available at higher levels. All your record catches are nicely saved on your profile for you to be proud of.

Other info on fish, fishing places, equipment etc is also presented very clearly and unless this is your 'first touch' ever with fishing world you shouldn't get lost. All in all a very rounded piece of software and the best part, which is quite unbelievable in all honesty, This game is FREE!Ungrateful army of moanersThere are people who are complaining about this game not being fair, or dead or that the developers are too greedy, take your pick.Even though there are overpriced DLCs that are not needed but make your fishing more smooth and there are microtransactions, this is not a pay to win. Game can be enjoyed very much without spending a cent and I am living proof for that.Game is not dead at all, it has just started living (It was a long wait for this to come out of Early Access)! There are always over thousand people playing it online and you can see those people fishing near you, chat with them, give and recive advice. Super nice stuff. The only thing I agree with those complaining is that traveling costs from your home to other lakes and rivers are too pricey. Developers should really decrease those. There are also some unrealistic demands for features that just don't belong in this game.people really don't know how to appreciate what they have, especially when they get it for free.Tips that make the gills get to grillsFishing is for patient people. Be so both when fishing and when spending your money on new gear (except Keepnet, buy best of those as soon as you can because bigger keepnet-more fish at the end of the day-more credits). Frugal fisherman catch just as many fishes as the big spender.

It's about the skills and smarts, not how deep is your wallet. I was more or less using my level 3-5 gear until I got to level 15 and then upgraded for biggers catches)Try different lures/baits in different locations/deapth/weather.

I learned a lot and improved my catches/income this way. If you don't enjoy experimenting, watch online tutorials, there are plenty of those.Get some achievements, there are both fun and provide gold on completion. Also try to spend at least 30 seconds of your life to log into game every day, you get credits for doing that and you'll be needing those if you want to enjoy this game as much as possible.Read carefully the rules before entering competitions so that you don't enter something you already know you can't win.(E.g. Even though I managed to be in top10 in my first two competitions (9th and 4th places) I totally wasted my time on a competiotion on Trophy Yellow Perch just because I didn't see that 'Trophy' which is at the moment out of my league) Also when traveling for a competiton always use that time to catch fish right after the competiton, that way you practially replenish the credits you spent on traveling.Tight lines!
